INTRODUCTION

Welcome to my first e-newsletter as your Pullenvale Ward Councillor. The e‑newsletters will complement my website (www.gregadermann.com.au) and social media (facebook.com/CrGregAdermann or Instagram @Crgregadermann) to keep residents up to date with what's happening in the Ward.
As always, I welcome your feedback either by contacting my Ward office next to the Library at Kenmore Village, or by calling 3407 0220 during business hours or emailing
pullenvale.ward@bcc.qld.gov.auI look forward to seeing you out and about in the Ward soon.

$15 MILLION FOR PROJECTS IN THE PULLENVALE WARD

Almost $15 million has been allocated for a range of services and projects in the Pullenvale Ward for 2020/21.
Highlights include $550,000 to resurface the worst section of Kenmore Road while a further $506,000 will be spent on major traffic improvements at the Kenmore Road and Fig Tree Pocket Road intersection near the boundary of a neighbouring Ward.
I’m really pleased to have secured more than $2.6 million to address Brisbane River erosion issues impacting the properties of residents at Illawong Way, Karana Downs.

BASKETBALL HALF COURT IN KENMORE

Following local community consultation, I’ve decided the proposed basketball half-court at Akuna Street, Kenmore will go ahead.
While a large majority of the responses received supported it proceeding, I did note the concerns of local environmental groups and have factored those into the final design.
As a result, there will be two hoops (one basketball and one netball) instead of three, which will be aligned to minimise any impact to the creek corridor. There will be no lighting and signs will be erected, limiting its use to between 8am and 6pm.

WESTERN SUBURBS TRAFFIC CONGESTION SOLUTIONS

I will continue to work with the Member for Ryan, Julian Simmons and Member for Moggill, Dr. Christian Rowan about traffic busting solutions for the western suburbs.
Earlier this month, Dr. Rowan and I met with the Opposition Transport Minister, Steve Minniken to present our case for inclusion in the LNP’s Transport policy ahead of the October State election.

QUEENSLAND POLICE REMINDER

Queensland Police are reminding everyone to be vigilant at all times. Unfortunately, thieves targeted residences and vehicles in Chapel Hill.

FREE NATIVE PLANTS

Don't forget that by simply presenting your rates notice at my Ward office that you can collect a voucher for free native plants.

ROTARY CLUB CHANGEOVERS

It was a pleasure to attend the recent changeover ceremonies for the Kenmore and Karana Downs / Bellbowrie Rotary Clubs. Urvi Shah has taken over from Dr. Martin Grabert at Kenmore while Alannah Valentine succeeds David Kearney at the Karana Downs / Bellbowrie Club. I look forward to working with them and other service clubs in the Pullenvale Ward to support the great work they do in our local communities.

LOCAL MARKETS ARE BACK

Local markets are back. The Brookfield Markets are on the first and third Saturday mornings of every month while the Karana Downs Markets are the last Sunday of each month.
Enjoy but please remember to observe social distancing protocols.
