Would you consider...

... enrolling in our Virtual O'Flaherty Retreat if we promised that if you aren't happy with the experience after one week, we will give you a full refund? We believe our Retreat volunteer team's hard work over the past six months has created a unique event worth trying. That's all we're asking: just try it. If you're still on the fence, please watch a short video teaser by clicking on the photo below.

Keep in mind:

  • The schedule is designed for working folks. The lessons are pre-recorded and all of the live events will take place on weeknights and weekends.
  • Most live events will be recorded. If you miss something, you can view it later. In fact, you will have up to seven weeks to view all of the Retreat content.
  • The pre-recorded lessons allow you to go at your own pace. You can stop, repeat, slow down, speed up, and move on when you decide. And the audio and video is top-notch.
  • You pay only for what you want.  Only want the lessons? Okay! Just the concerts, workshops, enrichment classes and informances? Sure! The concerts alone? You bet!  We priced them separately to make the Retreat both more affordable and more flexible.
  • The prices are very reasonable.  The lessons with these internationally respected musicians/teachers average just $16.67 per lesson, or $22 if you add the Instructor Q&A forums.  And for just $50 you can take advantage of the Extras package that comes with 154 live events including three full evenings of instructor concerts (each of which would cost $20 or more).
Virtual Learning: Will It Work?
We have worked hard to find online technologies that will work well for our Retreat. We have researched and experimented for months looking for the best fit for our event, and the Google Classroom platform is our choice. Why?
  • It’s simple to use. It is designed for users of all ages and technological backgrounds.
  • It’s all online.  You don’t have to download anything, and you can’t accidentally destroy anything.
  • It takes advantage of Google apps.  We can use other helpful online apps with Google Classroom such as Google Drive, Google Meet, Google Docs, and more.
  • It’s one place where you can find everything you paid for. All pre-recorded, live and recorded content will be accessed and viewed in Google Classroom.
  • We can provide knowledgeable tech support for it. Our staff uses Classroom regularly and will be happy to guide you if you need help. We are also offering training sessions that have been recorded for later viewing.
In the end, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the ease of attending our virtual Retreat.  Please join us!

Schedule Published

We have 154 live events scheduled and will also be offering 222 pre-recorded lessons and 3 Friday evenings of instructor concerts. Click on the SCHEDULE to check it out!
24 Tutors from the U.S. and Ireland

An amazing lineup of 24 instructors will teach and perform at this year's Virtual O'Flaherty Irish Music Retreat, October 18th through November 8th.  To view our teaching staff, go to INSTRUCTORS.

Great Musicians,
Great Concerts!
Our instructor concerts are one of the best things about the Retreat.  For three evenings, you can hear some of the best musicians in Irish music, and because it’s virtual, you’ll have the best seat in the house, up close and personal.  If you did not purchase the concerts as an enrolled student, you can still purchase admission to the concerts at
Google Classroom is used in many schools across the world from elementary schools to colleges, and it will serve as the gathering space for our virtual Retreat.

We understand the concerns of those who are not particularly tech-savvy, but we'll have your back, and we're confident that you'll be pleasantly surprised at the ease of attending our virtual Retreat.

Here are a few videos that will introduce you to both Google Classroom and The Commons which is where students will gather for community events and information:
