Hello!
It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, and we want to let you know what we’ve been up to. Some key highlights (we’re guessing you don’t want to hear about all the paperwork we’ve filed):
-
We wrote up our thoughts about why we need a social science agenda in nuclear energy and some concrete steps for how that might work. “The nuclear energy sector has long been dominated by some of the greatest technical minds in the fields of physics and engineering. However, over the decades there has been remarkably limited crossover with the social sciences, including Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Law, Politics, Communications, Design, Psychology, Sociology and Science and Technology Studies. Here are some steps the incoming administration can take to better incorporate key insights from these essential epistemologies.”
-
Listen to Jessica, Suzy, and Rachel’s interview by Rod Adams on his Atomic Insights Podcast (Episode 238). We talk about our policy ideas, some of the issues we’re tackling and some we’re leaving up to others, and how we think about the nuclear industry.
-
We’ve started to speak with nuclear engineering departments about Good Energy Collective and progressive nuclear policy. So far we’ve been welcomed by Oregon State and Penn State Universities and have had a great time talking with these motivated students and faculty.
-
Donate! Going back to that paperwork we’ve been doing, one key result is that we can now receive tax-deductible donations. We invite you to chip in if you are able and share broadly with your networks.
