Richard Louv's The Nature Principle

Children and Nature

Focusing on "Nature Deficiency Disorder"
and working for its elimination

As we all spend time with family, friends, and loved ones for a long holiday weekend this Memorial Day, hopefully your plans include getting out in nature, even if only for a brief hike or sunset.

Though our technological and consumer culture tends to pull us further and further from the natural world on a regular basis, we are not only a part but also a product of this complex organic machine we call Earth.

Included this week are just a few simple videos about the importance of the natural world and experiences within it to our development as human beings (NOT human doings). This is the importance we find behind our mission to help make sure that #ScoutingTHRIVES and why we encourage a mentality of #letsPLAYoutside through our efforts with New England Base Camp.

Help a Scout Go to Camp
This Summer

URGENT: Every Scout Deserves to Go to Summer Camp…
Please help make it happen!

We have almost exhausted our Campership fund, awarding close to $50,000 in Camperships to our Scouts in financial need.

Never has our council turned away a Scout from camp due to financial hardship, and we want to keep it that way!

Please Click the button below which will lead to the donation page, and select "Campership Fund" for where you would like your gift to go, so that we can keep approving campership applications.

It takes $250 to send a Cub Scout to a week of summer day camp and $370 to send a Boy Scout to T.L. Storer or Wah-Tut-Ca, but any amount will help.
