Learn Five Things You Can Do To Improve Your Unit

If you could do five things to make your unit even better, you would do that, right?  But how do you know what to do?  You'll discover the answer when you take “Wood Badge for the 21st Century.”

Sign up for Wood Badge course N1-224-17-1, two weekends on April 28-30 and June 9-11.  You'll meet and build lasting friendships with Scouters from three different councils, and at the end of the course you'll have a list of five action items to make your unit even better than it is today.  That's what we call "working your ticket."  To ask questions, contact Course Director, Elaine Mason, and register here!

New Program Commissioner Position

Submitted by:
Jack Terrill, Council Commissioner

To address a growing need within The Spirit of Adventure Council, we have created a new position, the Program Commissioner. They will perform the functions of a Unit Commissioner, but at the Satellite Camps.

The Commissioner’s primary role is to make sure the units they serve succeed, by providing information, observing, assisting, guiding and listening. They will be a resource for parents for everything from technology to events and opportunities.

We are looking to recruit 4 – 7 Program Commissioners to be a part of the Council Commissioner staff.  We are looking for people with excellent people skills, have a Scouting background, and have a vested interest in Scouting.

The Program Commissioner will be trained in youth protection and work at one or two of the satellite locations when those camps are in session (primarily on Saturdays from April through June).

Interested? Send me an email and we can start the discussion.
