What can ScoutBook.com do for your unit?

The Scout Book Initiative

As part of the council's initiative to improve customer service we are planning to provide every unit Scout Book, creating "400 Registrars" - one in every unit.

Scout Book
This spring Spirit of Adventure Council is going to pilot the relationship feature of Scout Book in a new way. Scout Book is owned by the BSA and has real time updates into the national Scouting Data Base. This creates a unique untested opportunity to create on-line youth registration, and allow scouts to seamlessly go from a partial at one camp to a completion at another all year long.

Pilot units
20 units will be chosen by the Council Membership Committee as pilot programs this March running through early August. We will test the impact on Cub Scout recruitment, advancement, crossovers, and camp.

Units interested in serving as a pilot unit must participate in certain programs during the test period:
1. Packs participate in spring recruiting campaign
2. Participate in a spring program at New England Basecamp
3. Participate in a Spirit of Adventure Summer camp (WTC, Storer, Lone tree and/or day camp)

To volunteer to be a pilot unit contact Marian McQuaid

Follow-up pieces will include:

  • Training for Unit Advancement
    • 5 training programs in August for the advancement volunteer for each unit.
    • At the conclusion of successful training the Council will purchase Scout Book for your unit.
  • Planned full launch date September 2016
    • Online registration for Scout recruitment this fall.
    • All Spirit of Adventure advancement programs will be linked.
    • Improved Eagle Scout verification process
    • Connect program support for Cub Scout Adventures.
Come join the Adventure, and help us make sure #ScoutingTHRIVES in your community!
