BSA Online Registration is Coming

Submitted by Council Commissioner, Jack Terrill

You have asked for it, for years. Starting this June, The Spirit of Adventure Council will be using a new online registration procedure that the BSA is introducing to Councils nationwide.

Instead of handing new applicants a paper application, parents will be provided a website URL or bar code unique to your unit, which will ask them to complete a Request for Information. If approved, the unit will email out a welcome packet and BSA membership card. The same process will occur for adult applications with council approval. Currently, the online registration system can only collect the BSA Registration fee and the Boy’s Life subscription fee, so council and unit fees will be separate.

Paper applications will still be accepted. The Unit Key 3s (Chartered Organization Representative, Committee Chair & Unit leaders) will need to be trained. Unit Key 3s should watch for additional emails that will provide specific information they need to do to prepare for the new system.

Additional information can be found on the BSA National website or by contacting me.

In the spirit of Boy Scouts' commitment to preserving the environment, the Spirit of Adventure Council would like to share a program that will enable us to greatly help the environment and benefit our scouting families financially!

Community Solar Farms have been built throughout the state to make green energy readily available to those who have an interest in preserving our planet. The best part is that it will reduce your electricity costs by at least 10%.
