Dear <<First Name>>,
Last week we were introduced to the Zen of the Wizard of Oz.
We explored the metaphysics of the Rainbow, of Toto and delved into Dorothy's "divine discontent.
Dorothy is on her iconic Hero’s Journey which for her, and for many of us, begins in the “Ordinary World,” the world of our day-in-day-out activities, into a world of mystery and bliss . This new world includes a Call to Adventure,a Refusal or Denial of something greater, A meeting of a Mentor or Sage who takes us through the dark night of the soul into the light, A crossing of the threshold from the ordinary into the extraordinary, a place of tests, Allies and perhaps enemies, A deep period of darkness into our innermost fears, an Ordeal that is crucible of transformation, and a Reward that makes it all worthwhile - The journey back home.
We ended last Sunday as Dorothy “crossed the threshold of the ordinary to the extraordinary - from Kansas to Munchkinland.
This week we pick up as Dorothy meets her mentor Glinda; her nemesis, the Wicked Witch of the West; and encounters the divine spark of The Ruby Slippers. Join us this Sunday as we continue exploring the metaphysics of The Wizard of Oz.
Crossing the threshold,
P.S. Wear red shoes if you've got them!
