The Joy of Christmas

Rev. JudeDear <<First Name>>,

Merry Christmas!

This Sunday we come together in community for the last week in advent - The Joy of Christmas.

For me, Christmas is a balance between my reason and belief in sacred mystery.  My reason says Oh, a celestial angel bringing messages of a virgin birth, stars pointing the way to a babe in a manger and three wise men and the shepherds is only a story.

And as I said recently on a Sunday, whether it "really" happened
doesn’t matter to me.  What matters to me is the sacred mystery -  the knowing that something miraculous happened so long ago, and because of that, we celebrated and seek to remember, be comforted, challenged and uplifted by that miracle.

Thankfully, being grounded in reality and in the mystery are not mutually exclusive.

I warmly invite you to come into community this Sunday as we enter into the Joy of Christmas.

In joyful service,
Rev. Jude
