Dear <<First Name>>,
This Sunday we begin our series The Gospel According to the Beatles with the song Blackbird. We'll hear the wonderful music and explore what this song might mean for us today.
The story goes that Paul McCartney wrote the song Blackbird as a result of reading an account of the struggle for civil rights here in the United States. I imagine in Paul McCartney’s imagination, the U.S. was learning how to rise above the limitations in consciousness that created slavery and the idea that skin color could ever be the litmus test for what makes a whole person.
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night,
take these broken wings and learn to fly."
Planetary healing begins with personal healing, and personal healing begins when we understand that we are only broken to the extent that we forget who we truly are. Our mission is to remember that wholeness is our Divine essence and birthright.
Please join me this Sunday as we remember how to fly.
Our Mission: To transform lives through love, prayer and service.
