Once again Ladies Day proved to be an extremely well supported and successful event put on by the Ladies Day committee members for the Women, who not only volunteer their time for the Club but also work hard and support the men who work tirelessly throughout the year volunteering their time encouraging our youth to participate in the great sport of Rugby.
The celebration of the ladies of Joondalup Brothers is not just about us. This event is our opportunity to give back and raise funds for something that is close to our hearts and this year a unanimous decision was made to raise funds to help a fellow ‘Joondalup Brothers family member’, Andy Macdowel, who is currently having treatment for bowel cancer. Every year we adopt a colour, which reflects the topic of our fundraising and this year was Blue for bowel cancer, hence Blues and Bling!, You have to hand it the women of Joondalup Brothers, they never disappoint when given the chance to dress up and party!
We were honoured to have Judith Lane, Community Education & Engagement Manager from The Harry Perkins Research Institute, as our guest and speaker on the research work of the Institute. It is so reassuring to hear that money raised is making a difference in advancing the research into better treatment in many cancers and other life shortening illnesses.
Of course, no event would be successful without the support/entertainment from some of the teams players - thank you, it was interesting!
The success of this event is down you for purchasing your tickets and bringing along your girlfriends for a fantastic and entertaining afternoon and evening for which we sincerely thank you.
We look forward to seeing all again you next year.

We've already seen some of our fantastic supporters and companies get on board.
Kings of the North Junior style. What a contest the first half turned out to be. Wanneroo certainly looked hungrier and up for the challenge sitting at 3rd spot on the table. They scored two tries quickly in succession, converting one. The Brothers were numb and looked a little shell shocked. We needed something to fire the boys up, and soon we got our opening with the forwards, working well together and Neil finding a gap to exploit, off loading to Ruiz who crashed over to narrow the deficit. Mitch slots the conversion in from the touch line with a huge vital kick. Mitch get another score in to bring us level at 12 all, but Wanneroo scored just before half time making the score12-17.
After a few choice words and encouragement from the Head Coach Adrian, the boys started the second half a different team. Spurred on by a storming run from the forwards the boys kicked it up a gear. First Jacob scores after one of his crunching tackle spills a the ball. Whetu James is up next and scores a jinking number 8 Try, converted by Ruiz. Mitch scores a classic from the kick off. Then Caius scores two fantastic breakaway tries spotting the gap and outpacing the Wanneroo back line.
Ruiz gets on the score board just before half time, to seal the game 53-17 a fantastic come back to keep the minor premiership in our sights. We awarded 2 boys the Man Of The Match being Caius and Ruiz for leading from the front and inspiring the team to lift their game.
Under 13 White
It was a tough day on the office for the white team. Going down 7-44 vs Arks.
The Arks exploited our defence and ran in tries through their back line. The Brothers were not putting into practive they've learnt mid-week. The forwards did well, for the most part, taking on the bigger team up front, although rucking and competing at the breakdown is something we will need to work on in training. Warrick Pedley, played his first full game at scrum half and seemed to be enjoying bossing the forwards around, as captain and half back.
Man of the match went to our newest player, Jarrod Diletti, who showed good controlled aggression and pace around the park, well done Jarrod.
Under 17 Blue
The U17 Blue team traveled to Wests today for what was anticipated to be an easy win and this mindset was not what the coach ordered, as the game kicked off it was evident that Wests were out for an upset with a try early in the first half, the Blues were taken off guard and let a penalty in front of the posts for Wests to increase their lead to 10 - 0, after this the Blues started to get some composure and an individual try from Kobi reduced the lead to 10 - 5, the second half was a different story though for the Blues with Dane getting a try from kick off then a try from Michael and two more for Dane leaving the final score a respectable 31 - 10 to the Blues although this game was very scrappy with lots of mistakes, giving the coach something to work on through the week.
