The White House Gardens became the 16th "Major Garden" on our website, so we're ready for its Open Garden Weekend coming soon.


DC Gardens holds Meet-up/Tweet-ups at area gardens. Left, garden writers John Boggan, Kathy Jentz, Louise Clark and I (Susan Harris) at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens' Waterlily and Lotus Festival. We're excited that local cycling enthusiasts have volunteered to create routes for our "Bicyclist's Guide to DC's Gardens and Landscapes," and one for Northern Virginia, too. The guides will include info about renting bikes and tons of photos. Above, my old bike at the U.S. Botanic Garden in early April.
