International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8. 

This year's theme is #BalanceForBetter, encouraging everyone to continue to strive for a more gender-balanced world.

Virago: International Women's Day Networking 

What: Come together with Virago Buffalo to celebrate International Women’s Day with cocktails and connections. Bring your girl gang or fly solo and find your flock.
When: Friday, March 8, 8 to 11 p.m.
Cost: $5 donation at the door (proceeds to Buffalo Women's Shelter)

Women Running for Elected Office: On the Campaign Trail Then and Now 

What: Head to the Buffalo History Museum for a curated exhibit of campaign artifacts and a panel discussion featuring women who have run for office in WNY. 
When: Friday, March 22, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Cost: Members, free. Museum admission for non-members.

2019 Buffalo Women's March
What: The march is a "sister march” to the national (and international) Women’s Marches and seeks to affirm the values of those marches. The gathering strives to live up to the principles of truth and love, peace and justice, equity, nonviolence, and care for Mother Earth.
When: Sunday, March 10, 3 to 4:30pm

Buffalo International Jewish Film Festival

What: While this may not seem like an International Women's Month event, this prestigious film festival explores the Jewish identity and, in one film in particular, how that intersects with a woman's identity. The Working Woman film screens March 24 and March 26 at 8 p.m.
When: Friday, March 22, to Thursday, March 28
Cost: $10 per film

Buffalo Boss Babes Speaker Series: EMPOWER 

What: This event will feature a keynote speaker as well as a panel of local women discussing their local women-owned business or women ran organizations. The main focus for this panel will be discussing how these women got started doing what they are doing as well as how business and community come into play in their journey.
When: Sunday, Mach 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

She Started IT 

What: Okay so this event is in April, but we thought it should be on your radar during International Women's Month for all the young women in your life. She Started IT is a free event to engourage 6th to 10th grade girls to explore and be inspired by the field of technology, giving them the opportunity to hear from, interact with and be encouraged by female founders and professionals in Buffalo, NY.
When: Saturday, April 13
Where: Buffalo and Erie County Public Library
