Golden View's assisted living receives perfect state inspection
Golden View’s assisted living has a lot to celebrate! Our assisted living program recently received another perfect state inspection from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human services. Golden View’s assisted living has obtained a perfect state inspection every year since 2008.
“We’re proud to announce that our annual inspection met 100% of the standards once again,” said Golden View’s Assisted Living Administrator Heidi Murray. “Once a year, the facility undergoes an unannounced inspection to assure we are following the regulations that govern supported residential care facilities. The evaluation covers all aspects of the facilities operations, and I’m extremely pleased to announce to our staff, the residents and their families that the facility has received a deficiency free inspection.”
The intensive evaluation included reviewing the facility’s day-to-day operations, quality of care provided to residents, staff qualifications, and the facility’s record keeping adherence to all state mandates. The licensing inspectors reviewed resident charts checking for accuracy and completeness. The inspector observed staff to verify the quality of resident care and compliance with medication supervision. Staff files were reviewed to verify compliance with licensing requirements including evidence of ongoing professional development. Finally, a tour and a complete inspection of our resident living, dining, and recreation areas were undertaken.
“In all instances, we met or exceeded standards,” Murray said.
Residents and staff celebrate National Assisted Living Week
Residents of The Inn, The Terrace, and The Cottage celebrated National Assisted Living Week® September 11th through the 17th this year. The goal of National Assisted Living Week® is to celebrate and bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers, and the surrounding community.
This year’s theme, “Keep Connected,” recognized the increasing opportunity technology can offer to enhance the care and overall experience in assisted living communities. “Keep Connected” also acknowledged how assisted living communities are an integral part of the larger community and how staff cultivates connections with local families, business owners, government organizations, community organizers and others to ensure that residents remain an active part of the community.
Activities for assisted living residents and their families during this special week included an ice cream social for residents and families, coffee hours for keeping connected with neighbors and friends, card games, hand massages and manicures for residents, a special celebration luncheon for residents, their families, and friends, treats from Dunkin Donuts, pet visits, a concert starring Ronnie Chase, a cheese and cracker social for families and friends, patio social, movie night, and more!
