We're Proud to be the Lakes Region's Only 5-Star Rated Private Nursing Home

In February, the government implemented changes to the 5-star rating system used to rank skilled nursing centers. Specifically, there is a change in how the staffing component is weighted, the cut points for each star level on the Quality Measure component have been rescaled, and two new Quality Measures for antipsychotic use have been added.

These changes will result in several area nursing centers receiving a lower rating. However, Golden View Health Care Center is proud to announce that it will remain a 5-star rated facility, which is the highest rating. We are also proud to announce that we are currently the only 5-star rated facility in the region. As always, our staff will continue to strive for excellence while caring for seniors of the Lakes Region and beyond.

Additional information about the 5-star rating system changes can be found on the Nursing Home Compare website at www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare.

Altrusa Donates Handmade Blankets to Golden View Residents

Assisted living residents at Golden View are keeping warm in style thanks to a generous donation by Altrusa of Meredith. Altrusa donated several beautiful handmade blankets leftover from the Festival of Trees to Golden View for residents to enjoy. Bob and Jean Decker, residents of The Terrace at Golden View, were happy to show off their new blanket, which they say will look lovely in their suite.
Residents Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

Golden View residents have donned their greenest clothes and accessories on several occasions this month in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. On March 5th, residents relaxed to some Irish lullabies by Duke Snyder on the piano. On March 11th, residents had some fun playing "Name That Irish Tune" in the morning and making ice cream leprechauns in the afternoon. On the 12th and 13th, residents made shamrock crafts and joined together for a St. Paddy's Day party with Irish music. The 16th had residents dancing away during the Irish Jig party featuring the music of Bill Parker, and on St. Patrick's Day itself, residents enjoyed a morning concert of Irish tunes by Joe Frascetti, followed by a delicious St. Patrick's Day luncheon with Gerry Grover on the piano.
