Global Academy Jobs

Your world of opportunity
Preparing your academic job talk, what is at stake?
Congratulations!

Your compelling, well organised and easy to read cover letter and CV have made it through the short-list process. You have now been invited for the first round of interviews. Time to prepare. Part of that preparation will inevitably include a presentation on your work. Some sage advice quoted by Richard Reis, a consulting professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Stanford University.

"In the end, remember that the job talk is not another defense of your work. You don't have to prove your competence. Instead, consider it a demonstration of your ability to contribute and collaborate as a potential colleague and as a clear communicator. That's what your audience is most interested in knowing."
