Golf Outing Awesomeness

Our 2017 golf outing is set for Sept. 18th at The Brickyard and all foursomes are sold out. That's awesome and we're excited about the positive impact your support will provide to the organizations we'll support through the proceeds including: ProAct Indy and the Munaychay Orphanage in Peru.

Now, we'd love to secure a few more hole sponsors and silent auction donors to make the greatest impact possible on the kids and youth these organizations serve. If you're in a position to help out, learn more here or contact Ken McKnight at or Mike Vargo at

Supporting Second Chances

Thanks to everyone who turned out for our First Annual Bingo Night. We had a good time for a great cause and raised $10k to support Craine House. The donation you made possible will support their work giving women a second chance for rehabilitation through family therapy, substance abuse counseling and vocational programs while providing them with a safe and structured, homelike setting to live with their preschool aged children.

Spotlight on Service

At our Aug 19th Day of Service, the BarnRaiser's team had fun trimming trees, washing windows and learning more about the good work happening at Noble of Indiana
These two BarnRaiser's Board Members (Ken McKnight on left; Mike Vargo on right) are the driving force behind our Annual Golf Outing. Over the years, they've led a team that's raised hundreds of thousands for kids and youth in need. Here are their stories.

KEN: I grew up in Indianapolis and have been working as a Facilities Engineer at IUPUI for over 20 years. I’ve had a long time friendship with BarnRaisers President Scott Rigney and was excited that he asked me to join the organization. As an original board member, I’ve seen the organization grow over our six years of existence and raise nearly $500,000 for children with needs. It’s been very gratifying to work with the other board members to help children both locally and internationally. As an avid golfer I enjoy co-chairing our annual golf outing each year. We have worked hard to make our golf event special and unique allowing us to raise significant funds in support of our charities. I look forward to working with the other board members and donors to move our organization to a higher level of fundraising in support of children with needs.

MIKE: I was born In Indianapolis and I'm the ninth of 10 children. Professionally, I started Ag Nutrition in 2013 and personally, I'm married to Diane Beard. My 15 seconds of fame came when I was cast for a bit part in the movie Hoosiers. I've been on the Family Horizons Credit Union board for many years and I've been on BarnRaisers's board since our inception. I love co-chairing our golf outing because it's one way we can join with donors to really make a difference. I believe that it's always better to give than receive and when you help others, they, in turn will help others in need. Thanks to all of our golfers and sponsors over the years. You've helped many kids in need through your generous support.
BarnRaisers says "THANKS" to all of our generous donors and sponsors. Your kindness is making a difference here at home and around the world.
