-- Aria Halliday, American Studies Ph.D Candidate speaks to the Purdue Exponent about her talk, "OMG, Look at Her Butt: Self-Objectification, memetic Culture and Nicki Minaj's Anaconda Feminism". -- Congratulations to Aria Halliday & Na'eemah Webb for placing second and third in the NCBS essay contest.
-- Jennifer Sdunzik and Annagul Yaryyeva led workshops in promoting cultural identity and diversity through the Purdue Extension's learning network in Frankfort, IN. Please see the article here in the Purdue Exponent.

-- Congratulations to Lisa Young on winning a Ford Foundation Fellowship!!
In an effort to better highlight and celebrate the wonderful work by American Studies students, faculty, and alumni we are launching Last Friday, a monthly newsletter for our program.
As the name suggests, the newsletter will go out on the last Friday of each month during the academic year, an apt moment to reflect on the events of the past month and signal the activities in upcoming weeks.
Please make sure to use the link below for submissions. Be sure to send news/events you wish to announce or you may email Brandi. We don't want to miss anything!
