Weathering New Storms
What a whirlwind the last season has been in the Chidister household! The adjustment of a new member of the family has been intensely wonderful and has firmly planted us in a new season of life in family and in ministry. In this new season God has greatly blessed us with a healthy beautiful daughter but also a marriage that continues to be challenged and strengthened with new problems to solve and opportunities to support each other around every corner.
The last 6 months have been full of great joy and great challenge. Katie and I have settled into a routine of working together while having the great opportunity to bring Juniper to work with us. This has proved to be both challenging and also a wonderful blessing. We are learning in a very real way how to split time between good things, how to work diligently (occasionally even effectively) with a divided attention, and how to care well for each other in and out of the office. With the lines between home and work becoming even more blurred, establishing good boundaries for a healthy family has been critical.
I could write a novel about this process and the lessons we have learned but at the base of it all Katie and I find that the constant grace of our Savior in His perfect gospel convict and inspire us to heap grace out upon one another and ask regularly for forgiveness.
It has been wonderful to get to work together in a very exciting time in YD. Since the end of the summer season we have taken time to evaluate, plan, boot up new programs, train, rest, shore up our personal financial support, connect with students and staff, celebrate the purchase of a new office and community drop in center for YD Idaho, continue the remodel on our staff housing and much more. (I will be sending out a program update next week highlighting one of our new programs that is so awesome it deserves its own email. So keep your eyes peeled for that.)
Please pray for us as we continue to labor together as spouses, parents, missionaries, Christ followers, and friends. I couldn’t be more excited, with just the right amount of healthy trepidation, to continue to press in an on together into this life changing season God has gently put us in. Thank you for your prayers and support.
2019 Ski Van Group: Ski van has been awesome this year and continues to be a critical element in meeting new students and engaging old students.

Pray for our family as we make the transition from having Juniper at work with us to daycare in the next few weeks.
Pray for conversations on chairlifts with students as we build relationship and create space to talk about meaningful and eternal things.
Pray for our marriage as we tackle new problems, learn new things about each other in our roles as parents, and work side by side in ministry. Pray that we would love each other well and be quick to serve and encourage.
Thank you for your prayers. Please let us know how we can be praying for you!
