Celebrating Mental Health Month

This month encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not. It also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help seeking behaviours when needed.

It's important to Tune In and be aware of what is happening within you, and in the world around you. It's a chance to promote activities and ideas that can have a positive impact on our daily lives and the lives of others. For more information about Tuning In, please click here to find out more.

Mental Health and heart disease are closely linked. Research indicates that one in five women will suffer from depression during their lifetime, which can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Achieving Work & Life Balance during COVID-19

It is undoubtedly a strange and stressful time for many women right now, especially for Victorians. Between working from home, home-schooling, running errands and taking care of families, the social impact of COVID-19 is significantly changing how we live our lives.

At Her Heart we are celebrating Mental Health month, and as there is a strong link between our physical and mental health – its really important to take time out of your busy day to focus on your mind and wellbeing. It does not mean that you have to be meditating or doing yoga (it's great if you can!) but equally if you take time out to read a book, or go for a walk around your local park and connect with nature then you will reap the rewards.

This month we give you suggestions for creating a healthy lifestyle for yourself, family and loved ones, and for those juggling working from home – some additional great tips, so please enjoy!

Warmest wishes,
