In Full Bloom

Spring is a time of growth, new flowers and leaves budding, emerging and coming into full bloom. It's a season filled with floral variety and beauty. It's a season rich with inspiration and soft feminine colours.

For this Spring Seasonal Report I am sharing a beautiful baby shower photoshoot that I contributed towards. Styled by Dream a Little Dream Events and I Heart Table Art the shoot was a collaboration of vendors from the Life's Little Celebrations group to create a stunning botanical inspired editorial for Party with Lenzo. The event was photographed by Love Her Photography.

Rich with lush botanicals, green leaves are balanced with plenty of creamy whites and touches of peach and rose gold. The effect is light, airy and romantic. To create this look for your event you will need to layer, layer, layer in order to build up that rich texture and sense of rapid Spring growth. To keep everything balanced you need to ensure you stick strictly to your minimal colour palette so that the setting doesn't look chaotic or lose it's sense of elegance.

ELK Prints contributed a series of botanical paintings used to decorate the event. Two new original watercolour artworks were created specifically for the party and prints of some of my previous botanical paintings were also incorporated into the backdrop of the gift station. I also created custom gift tags with each illustration drawn directly onto the gift tag and hand-painted. A set of gift tags using Victorian style pressed flowers were also made.
Historical Botanical paintings were a key inspiration point for the photoshoot. This original painting I created was inspired directly by one of those traditional illustrations that had been used in the stationary set. I inked the flowers in sepia before finishing off with the watercolours.
The rose was a new original artwork I created inspired by the stylist's brief that referenced botanical traditions.
Pressed flower tags make a special finishing touch to gifts.
The drinks station setup features pink moscato and peach fizz cocktails. Custom labels on the mini magnum bottles is a clever way to reinforce the theme of your event.
The centrepiece cake also features delicate hand-painted details and a spectacular sugar work flower.
Paper flower bulbs from Hanging Pretty make a unique table decoration piece. The botanical watercolours are continued across the choice of chinaware and real leaves make an easy decorative touch.
Drawing, painting and playing with pressed flowers and leaves keyed into my enthusiasm for botany.
A sense of wildness is created by the trailing leaf branches in the central posy design and in the mass of pot plants and hanging baskets and pots that fill the venue space.
