Climate data to keep an eye on
We, at J++ and Newsworthy, intend to make 2021 a year of data-driven climate journalism. In our research on data points to monitor we found this list in a report from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency very helpful:
These indicators represent almost all of our consumption-based emissions in Sweden. In other words, these are the indicators that we – as data journalists – should keep an eye on if we want to understand our progress towards sustainability:
- Passenger cars – fuels, mileage and emissions
- Flights
- Food consumption (especially meat)
- Construction and heating
- Consumption of cloaths and other textiles.
