With Duke Energy's solar rebate providing significant financial incentives for employing solar panels, there have been some shady business practices in North Carolina. This isn't new and we've written several things to help consumers be equipped, like these 5 heartbreaking situations in the NC solar industry. Don't Miss the NC Solar Rebate
Duke Rebate Opening January 2nd

On Jan 2, 2019, applications will open for Duke Energy's 2019 solar rebate program in North Carolina. The rebate program has an annual cap and the 2018 program filled up in about 10 days this past summer. We expect the 2019 rebate to fill up even faster this year!  (The 30% federal tax credit is still in place for 2019, but will decrease in 2020. Read more about how to utilize the tax incentives on our blog.)

In order to apply for the rebate, an electrical design must be created by Southern Energy Management and the project will need to be submitted to Duke Energy for interconnection before the application period opens on Jan. 2, 2019.

This rebate allows you to get the most financial benefit for your solar system. It can take a couple weeks to get your project ready to apply for Duke Energy's rebate, so if you are interested in taking advantage of this rebate, you need to act NOW!
