Referee election test at the German Open

Referees, we need your help. On every tournament is hard to find a referee, therefore we test a new system on the German Open 2018. It is non-obligatory. But be fair and sporty.

One week before the tournament, all licenced referees will be contacted. They will be asked to indicate which matches (quarter, semi, final) they want to referee.

That means, a referee can choose the games for which she/he will be responsible up to 4 days before the tournament.

If possible, no matches should be chosen that are in the same category as the referee is is playing him/herself. Everyone should umpire at least 2 matches.

If, after 4 days before the tournament, not all matches have been assigned a referee, the head umprire will assign referees manually and will announce them latest at the opening ceremony. All referees have to adhere to this procedure. Any desired changes need to be agreed with the head umpire.

Next General Assembly
Date: Wednesday, July 03, 2019, (One day before the WorldChampionship 2019)
Time: from 1 pm to 6 pm
City: Budapest/Hungary
More details, will be send out to delegates a few weeks before the WC
