World Class

Welcome to the first Boarding edition of Campbell Life - which offers a taste of  life at Campbell College. To get into the swing we have Year 11 pupil, Johnny Napier who is enjoying his 15 minutes of global fame following his starring role as a young Rory McIlroy - world number 1 golfer and local hero -  in the recent Nike Advert. With 45 million hits world-wide the ad was launched at the recent Masters in Augusta and has caused a great buzz for Johnny who was chosen from thousands of young hopefuls. As Northern Ireland warms up for the Irish Open later this month Johnny is getting ready to meet his hero at Royal County Down Golf Club.  To watch this advert please click here.

Flying Visit

This term as part of our Careers Day pupils were treated to a visit from a Royal Navy Sea King search and rescue Helicopter. The CCF boys in particular enjoyed the chance to talk to Old Campbellian, Jonny Lynas about careers in the Royal Navy and how the CCF and boarding at Campbell helped him prepare for his future career.  Over 50 Old Campbellians gave their time to help guide and advise our Y13 and 14 Pupils on a vast array of career options.

Pancake day goes global

The College introduced their international boarding community to the tasty tradition of Pancake Day with an annual pancake toss in front of the School followed by a lunchtime feast of freshly made pancakes.  Although widely known and celebrated in homes across the UK and Ireland, this Shrove Tuesday feasting is not as common elsewhere. In Germany the day is called 'Fastnacht' and according to Fahad Khan, a German boarder, it is not as big a deal as it is here."We don’t really celebrate it and to be honest this is the first time I have had a go at flipping a pancake!"

In France and the USA the event is known as 'Mardi Gras' (Fat Tuesday), but in China little is known about this traditional pre-Lent feast as Hong Kong boarder, Chak Yip explains, "I had never heard of this before I came to Belfast and it has been great fun to learn about the different food traditions that exist."

Need a boarding space?

For those who are looking for boarding spaces we have a few left for September 2015.  We would be delighted to hear from you if you have an applicant who wants everything that the large English private schools can offer but at a much lower cost.
The EU boarding and tuition fee is only £4,192 per term, and the non EU fee is only £5,916 per term.  To reach school it is a short 1 hour flight from the London airports and then just 5 minutes from Belfast City Airport to School in a taxi.
We also offer spaces for girl boarders in our Sixth Form. They board at Campbell and complete their day time studies at one of our sister schools, Strathearn or Bloomfield.  Click here to read more.
