“What do you do?”  It’s a common question.  If you haven’t thought about the answer lately, maybe the first month of a new year is a good time.  “What do you do” is quite like “who are you” but feels safer to ask for some reason, more focused, specific, defined.  Asking “who are you,’ depending on the context, can either sound defensive or overly familiar.  It’s the question on peoples’ minds as John the Baptizer comes of the wilderness at blockbuster force. Instead of answering “are you the Messiah?” John tells them what he’s doing……  Read more….

Join the United Methodist Women for a birthday celebration of 150 years – and counting – in the city where the UMW began: Boston. 
 
Among the exhibits will be the historic stained glass windows from the Tremont St. Methodist Episcopal Church, where the UMW was founded. 
 
Hosted by the New England Conference UMW, the Conference Commission on Archives & History and Boston University School of Theology, the day's events will include dynamic speakers (see the featured speakers below), entertaining re-enactments, worship, fellowship, and more.
