Mothers in Faith:  Fruitful Leadership
A few weeks ago, I attended the funeral of a woman who was the spiritual mother of many. Gwen White inspired through music, programs in children and spirituality, retreats, and spiritual direction. She inspired me to be patient with my wiggly young children in church. But what I admired most about her was way she could take an assortment of friends and craft a circle of discipleship that endured over years. Read more…..
Sports Camps offered at Camp Mechuwana this summer!

The soccer field has recently been expanded to meet even college standards. Our sports camps emphasize skill development and sportsmanship. Campers also have time to do all the other camp activities such as swimming and boating. One of the highlights of the weeks is the traditional game with the permanent staff.   Read more...

Prayers of Confession and Intercession:
Holy Friend, loving God and Savior we pry to you, both when we are at our wits end and on those days when we feel reasonably capable and competent.
We ask you to bless our attempts to aid at least some of the lonely, suffering, bewildered, and grieving people on earth.
Yet our efforts toward loving our neighbor, even at their best and most efficient, are piecemeal.
Sometimes, in spite of our good intentions, our endeavors may be ill advised and ill directed.
Please, by the loving work of your Holy Spirit, do for our fellow human being that which we cannot manage to do.
May no child of earth, be they friend or stranger, ever face distress or calamity on their own.
Please guide and bless those gifted people who seem to have the knack of loving others in appropriate, practical ways.
Give each of us the commitment and wisdom to express our compassion more wisely and lovingly.
Loving God, to you all persons are precious. No neighbor is a nuisance. No enemy is beyond the pale. Please teach us your ways.
Let no person be forgotten, none neglected, none despised, and none judged as unworthy of the best care that is available.
Bring the day nearer when your church on earth may become more truly a redeemed and redeeming community of grace, mercy and peace.
Through Christ Jesus. Our Lord. Amen!

Dear Friends,
MCH, originally known as Maine Conference Home and now as Making Community Happen, is a vital service provider in our coastal communities.  The demise of Coastal Trans last year created a budget crisis for 2017.  While donations are welcome at any time of the year, Golden Cross Sunday, on Mother’s Day, is when we specifically raise this ministry up for support.  Because we are absolutely committed to making sure it’s essential services to our communities continue, Jeff and I will match up to $1,000 in donations from MidMaine Churches. Please be sure to mark “MCH” on your Golden Cross Sunday donation and let me know the level of contribution that I should match.  And thank you for your partnership in reaching out to the elderly members of our rural Maine Communities.
