The Right Start
1-3-17

My first 2017 morning started off in the best Wesleyan way, with covenanting worship and communion at Lisbon UMC in Lisbon Falls. During the “you pick hymn” sing, a man seated behind me asked for Let There Be Peace on Earth.” From the immediate appreciative murmurs, I knew other hearts were as grateful to sing our hope and commitment aloud as mine was.   Read more……
Preparing for Reboot: Get Your Churches on Board!

Greetings, Mid Maine District!  We are looking forward to being with the churches in your district for the Reboot Your Worship online training starting January 8! Currently you have 1 church signed up. We want to help you get out another communication to your churches to be sure they are motivated to sign up. Here is some language to get you started:

"Don't miss this opportunity to learn how to 'Reboot Your Worship' in 2017 by simply signing up to get e-mails to guide you through an online training experience with Dr. Marcia McFee, a nationally-known teacher of worship. Our district has purchased access so that you can do this for FREE! Over 6 weeks, Dr. McFee will be offering you articles and videos that will help you in 5 "basics" that can improve your worship immediately:
  1. more deeply spiritual journeys (creating anticipation which builds attendance)
  2. more congregational participation (make worship more engaging for everyone)
  3. more sensory-rich communication (whether or not you have a big budget or fancy technology)
  4. better leadership (how to get to worship while you are leading worship)
  5. flow and transitions (making worship less disjointed and more like a spiritual journey from beginning to end)
And then she will help us all understand more about conflict over worship and what to do about it.
We encourage you to take advantage of this gift and join us for this series. Even though it lasts 6 weeks (with 6 live webinars), you can do this at your own pace (webinars will be recorded) but you must sign up at this link: https://ny163.infusionsoft.com/app/form/mid-maine-dist-ne You can have any number of people from your church sign up at that link to get the e-mails to their inbox as well. This is a great way to learn together!"
