Three Wanggaard Bills Signed into Law

Senate Bill 177 codifies current requirements relating to the maintenance and accessibility of drainage district corridors. This bill also generally precludes local governments from restricting a drainage board's ability to provide maintenance of district corridors.

Senate Bill 128 alleviates burdens in our judicial system by allowing court commissioner to issue search warrants for OWI cases.

Senate Bill 258 does three things; requires dental practices to preserve patient records for the amount of time determined by the board by rule, It also requires dental practices to transfer patient records if requested by a patient or person authorized by the patient, additionally, under the bill a contract between a dentist or dental hygienist and another party for practicing dentistry or dental hygiene may not require the dentist or dental hygienist to meet a minimum quota for the number of patients seen or procedures performed.

Human Trafficking Bill has Hearing in the Assembly

Assembly Bill 634, a bill I co-authored which addresses Human Trafficking was heard in the Assembly on Thursday, November 30th.  The bill improves upon legislation we passed last session which targeted child sex traffickers by allowing for the use of administrative subpoenas for human trafficking crimes and allows for them to be used at hotels.  Time is of the essence when stopping these predators.  When passed, this legislation will add to the arsenal of tools for law enforcement to protect victims of human trafficking.
