Happy Birthday, Misao-sensei!
Misao Jo, the founder of SAORI weaving turned 104 on April 27th and she celebrated it with staff members and family of SAORInomori studio in Osaka. Her son Kenzo, the SAORI loom designer and the director of SAORInomori studio is next to her. The other side of Kenzo is his wife Kazuko and the other side of Misao is her great granddaughter Nozomi, Akiko's daughter. Misao has three sons and 6 great grandchildren as far as I know.
She looks healthy here in the picture. In the other pictures which were up on Facebook by SAORInomori showed that Misao was eating a piece of cake.

I hope we get to see her on the Japan tour on May 26th-June 8th.

By the way, the mid-aged man in the left side is the man who has been building each loom one at a time.
