I hope you are having a great summer.

It's been almost a year since Annie left the studio. In this fall I will be ready to accept new intern who is interested in fiber art in general and possibly who are good at new technology. I would like to have someone who can commit working at least 8 hours (4 hour training / 4 hour work) a week at the studio for three months. If you know someone who might be a good match for me, please give the person my contact. Thank you!

I've been busy with teaching and selling this summer. Art with Amy, an art studio offering classes mainly for children in Brookline, MA is one of new places I worked in June and July. Textile Trio at Windham Textile Mill Museum in Windham, CT was a new event this year. The exhibition was really interesting to me. Since the textile museum in Lowell is closed, I would like to have a good relationship with this one. I hope this event would be developed to attract more people next year. Boston Mini Maker Faire was another new event. It was great to see many little curious faces in front of Boston Children's Museum.

I had also spent the third year at Searsport Shores Ocean Campground in ME in July. I had a really refreshing week. This is a kind of vacation for me to play and hang out with children and their families in the morning and walk, kayak, eat, and shop in addition to dye and weave in the rest of the day for a week.

I am leaving to Japan on Aug.19th through Sep. 8th. This time I will go by myself. I plan to visit Shibori and Indigo museums and get more training at SAORI no mori in Osaka. I look forward to seeing families and friends there.

Please check out the workshop and events below and mark your calendar.

I hope to see many of you at the studio soon!

Warm regards,
Mihoko
