3rd UN High Level Meeting on NCDs September 27, 2018

Briefing Document for Ministries of Foreign Affairs
Dear HCC Member Organisations,

As part of our efforts to encourage CARICOM Heads of Government to attend the 3rd UN High Level Meeting on NCDs on September 27th, 2018, we have developed this Briefing Document for Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFA): Preparing CARICOM Ministries of Foreign Affairs for the 3rd UN High-level Meeting on NCDs, a briefing note contribution from Civil Society. View/download
In advance of the recent 21st Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR,) we shared the Brief with Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials across CARICOM including Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Permanent Secretaries and Permanent representatives of the UN Missions in New York who will be on the front lines of the negotiations of the HLM3 outcome document.
A major positive outcome of this initiative was that the Brief was reviewed during the COFCOR deliberations and acknowledged in the meeting Communique. Read more
It will be important that these stakeholders receive this important resource from multiple sources. The brief is very informative and contains general information which is useful for stakeholders outside of the MFA so please feel free to share with your local Ministry of Health officials (we also shared with MoH personnel from across the region).
In the coming weeks and months the HCC will be developing additional materials to support national advocacy around getting our Heads to the HLM3.

Please check out our HLM3 webpage for these materials and the weekly roundup for updates.

We will also use emails such as this one to keep you posted.
Please let us know if you have any questions and if you wish to be part of our HLM3 Advocacy Team.
