In our short video below hear directly from Shardonnay as she explains what autism is. Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing more facts about autism and showcasing our student’s achievements. #WeDecide: Down Syndrome Awareness Day

Last Monday PiP took part in World Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day, a global awareness event to celebrate the lives of those with Down’s Syndrome.

To celebrate, PiP students with Down’s Syndrome led a webinar based on this year’s theme, ‘We Decide’. Everyone did a great job at presenting and spoke confidently. PiP student Gemma presented an informative presentation about her job at Petite Miracles. Lauren spoke about how proud and confident she is travelling independently around London and Noureddine talked about his love of fitness, leading an interactive stretching workshop!

A big thank you for everyone who joined us!

As lockdown restrictions ease, PiP is back out and about supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to feel confident re-integrating into their local community. Over the school Easter holidays, we’ll be supporting our students 1:1 and for small group meet-ups in parks for socials and sports, visiting a community garden for physical and therapeutic benefits and continuing with online sessions for students and families not yet comfortable with sessions outside. We might even be able to squeeze in a pub lunch! If you see us out and about, do say hello!
