Keep the Pressure On! Your Calls to Save the ACA Are Needed TODAY!

ACA Delayed But Could Be Rescheduled as early as Friday or Monday! Pressure Mounts on Denham, Valadao, Other CA Representatives to Reject the GOP Plan!

Moments ago, House Speaker Ryan delayed a vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA) because he did not have the 216 votes he needed to pass the bill on to the Senate. Our calls, emails and rallies are making a difference! But we must continue to keep up the fight. We have heard the Republicans may reschedule a vote for this Friday, or as late as Monday.

The AHCA will be devastating to California seniors, children, immigrant communities and budgets at the state and county level. We need to do everything we can to stop this bill in its tracks. Members, regardless of their position, need to hear from their constituents NOW.

We cannot stand by and let them make coverage more expensive and less accessible, gut Medicaid and strip away critical consumer protections, all to fund tax cuts for wealthy Americans.

Take Action Now!

1. Call your representatives!
Go to this Take Action Page to find the phone number for your member(s).
Tell them:
  • My name is XX. I live in your District.
  • The repeal bill will hurt working families, children, seniors and people living with disabilities.
  • California cannot afford dramatic cuts to our Medicaid program – we need to make sure that our safety net hospitals and vulnerable community members are adequately supported.
  • We were promised that the GOP’s ACA repeal plan would provide better care, cover more people and cost less. This bill does exactly the opposite. We need a solution that builds on the progress we’ve made in expanding coverage and provides our community with the health and economic security we need.
2. Tweet or write your representative! The Center for American Progress (CAP) has created a social media toolkit with customized graphics for target members.
