Slow Food South Bay
is hosting a Polenta Potluck
...bring a polenta dish (meatless),
and /or any vegetarian/vegan dish,
and/or a story to share about
polenta, or any other heirloom food.
Monday, November 6, 2017
6:30pm - 8:30pm
(Yes, this coming Monday, sorry for the late notice!)
As members of Slow Food's Chef's Alliance, we (Joni Sare, and other Slow Food chef members) have received a free bag of "Sea Island White Flint Corn Grits" from Anson Mills, to feature it this coming "Meatless Monday."
This corn is on the Slow Food's "Ark of Taste," a catalog of 4,000+ foods that are worthy of our attention in order to maintain the biodiversity on our planet.
Follow their campaign on Facebook.
Here is an article in Southern Living, April 2017, about South Carolina's white corn.
