I have a tendency in winter not to go out as much and I often get cabin fever. When I feel like this, I get into my mini and head off to fun fun activities or start planning new projects that will lift my spirit. Here are 3 suggestions you may enjoy:
1) A visit at the new location of the Pickle Dish Quilt shop, 24 Lake Ave W, Carleton Place,
https://www.thepickledish.ca/ Did you know that The Pickle Dish Quilt Shop in Carleton Place has moved to a new location last October? The owner, Jan Kittle, bought a gorgeous Victorian house and transformed the first floor into a quilt shop and studio. The house has kept its original character with its gorgeous stain glass windows and crown mouldings. It is the perfect setting to display the beautiful fabrics. I felt so welcomed by Jan and the staff. They even offered me a cup of tea while I was browsing. Here are a few pictures of my visit:
It is also the only place where you can get the hand turned stitch rippers. I have one of these and I love it. They are lovingly hand made by Jan`s son.
2) How about a weekend retreat
Karine Chapleau from Inspired Getaway has informed me that there still a few spots available for a wonderful retreat February 3 to 5. Having gone to this wonderful Getaway several times, I can assure you that you will love it!! An escape to Vermont?
I love Spring and to celebrate its arrival I am organizing a beautiful retreat at the Strong House Inn in Vermont, Check their website at: http://www.stronghouseinn.com/
It will be held April 7 to 9 with an optional shopping day on the 6th and the visit of Judith Reilly quilting studio. She is a fabulous textile artist. To see her work, you can visit her website at http://www.judithreilly.com. It will be a weekend packed with quilting , good food and good company.

Ah l'hiver! c
C'est la saison où on risque le plus de broyer du noir et d'avoir les nerfs en boule. Ma solution: sortir de la maison ou encore planifier de belles activités pour oublier les rigueurs de l'hiver. Je vous propose 3 belles activités qui sauront sûrement vous plaîre!

Je suis allée visiter le nouveau magasin The Pickle Dish à Carleton Place. Ce magasin existe depuis plusieurs années. Il se trouve à Carleton Place. En octobre dernier, la propriétaire du magasin, Jan Kiddle, a décidé de déménager le magasin. Elle a acheté une superbe maison victorienne et elle a transformé le premier étage en un magnifique magasin/studio de quilting. La maison a gardé son cachet d'antan avec ses vitraux et ses belles moulures. C'est le décor parfait pour mettre en valeur les magnifiques tissus du magasin. J'ai eu un accueil chaleureux. On m'a même offert le thé pendant que j'admirais tous les beaux tissus et patrons. C'est aussi à cet endroit que vous pouvez vous procurer les magnifiques découseurs faits main par le fils de la proprio. C'est une superbe destination pour nourrir notre créativité et refaire le plein d'énergie
2) Une retraite à Inspired Getaways à Arnprior
Karine Chapleau m'informe qu,il reste de la place pour la retraite du 3 au 5 février. Inspired Getaways est un endroit enchanteur et je vous le recommande. Vous allez adorer l'expérience. 3) Un voyage au printemps au Vermont

Je rêve au printemps et au merveilleux voyage que j'organise au Vermont du 7 au 9 avril. Ce sera une magnifique retraite au Strong House Inn. Quilting, bonne bouffe et excellente compagnie sont au rendez-vous. Il y a même une journée additionnelle que j'organise le 6 avril pour ceux et celles qui désirent visiter les magasins de tissus et visiter le studio de l'artiste et quilteuse Judith Reilly.
