REGENERATE GAME JAM

REGENERATE Game Jam is a 48-hours of reimagining farming in games to focus on regenerative and sustainable practices.

We can't imagine what we cannot see. This Game Jam will go some way to answer the question, "how can we change the world if we keep reinforcing the same ways of doing things - no matter how harmful?" Regenerate Game Jam 2022 is your opportunity to create fun and visible climate action towards the regeneration of people, place and planet.

Regenerate game jam is an inclusive game jam. We will help team up for those looking for a team, and with our mentors, support them to get to the finish line. We encourage participants of all experience levels and aim to foster a diverse and inclusive safe space for people to create games. All games must be SFW.

Science tells us that we need to shift to sustainable farming methods to mitigate the climate, soil and biodiversity crisis; let’s make sure that pop culture is keeping up.

When?

The REGENERATE Game Jam will run 18th -20th February 2022 NZST.

How?

The game jam will run on the REGENERATE Game Jam Discord server.

GAMING FOR CHANGE IN HK

Last December, Singing Cicadas, Press Start Hong Kong, and Eaton Hong Kong teamed up to organize Gaming for Change 2021. The event was a resounding success with 50 passionate attendees discovering the potential of interactive media and social change through Hong Kong’s local creatives. Throughout the day, attendees were bombarded with inspiration, starting with a panel where three spirited speakers discussed how they made an impact. After, attendees visited the marketplace, where local creatives could showcase their projects. Workshops empowered participants to take action by learning new skills and finally the gamestorming session where networking and brainstorming were combined.

You're the Protagonist - Learning through Play, Teaching through Stories and Designing for Agency

In this presentation, Vince Siu, Founder and CEO of Press Start Academy, will discuss the power of narrative-driven games as learning tools, and share examples that can be easily replicated in your own learning environments. Join us to imagine a future where fun finally comes first!
