A Tradition of Giving
Did you know Mt. Philo is the oldest state park in Vermont? In 1924, Mrs. Frances Humphries donated land for our first state park, Mt. Philo. Since then, many of our 55 Vermont State Parks have been created with support of conservation-minded donors.

VPF is grateful for the support received in 2017 from individual donors. It shows that Vermonters and out-of-state visitors alike share in our love for the state parks, and recognize and value the importance of preserving these treasures for generations to come. Our work would not be possible without the generous support of community members like you!

Stories from the Parks
“Last summer my family and I took a week-long camping trip around Vermont. My favorite memory is from Green Mountain Reservoir State Park. I hadn't done my homework and only learned we needed to bring our own boat after we had arrived. Lucky for us, there was another family that had just arrived familiar with the park. They told us the staff at the park were very friendly and we could borrow a boat from the park and explained to us using the park map which campsites were open.

We heard loons for the first time and in the morning our 12-year-old daughter, Noam, made rice for breakfast with tomato sauce because it was all we had left. Nuri, our six our old told us it was the best rice he had ever had. I replied by saying 'my mission is complete.' My mission being setting the example that adventure and making do with what you have often prove to be the best experiences and make for the best memories. We live in Israel during the winter but plan to visit more state parks next summer.” – Shira Sternberg

Business Partnerships - A Win-Win!
In 2017, over 20 local business, small and large, supported VPF through our Business Partnership Program. We are thrilled to continue the program this year. Not only does this partnership provide  businesses the opportunity to directly support our parks, but it gives us a chance to say thanks and get more folks into the parks by providing free park passes to business employees!
