Our Story
Vermont Parks Forever is the nonprofit foundation created in 2013 to benefit Vermont State Parks through charitable and private support. We collaborate with Vermont residents, park visitors, and state government to protect and enhance our 55 state parks. Our work is guided by three goals: to improve park nature centers so people can better understand and appreciate the outdoors, to increase park access for underserved communities, and to create innovative educational opportunities that inspire a new generation of environmentalists. We are proud to continue Vermont’s tradition of support for conservation, recreation, public health, and natural beauty.

Did you know we have a new State Park? Vermont Parks Forever was thrilled to be a part of the development and opening of Taconic Mountains Ramble State Park in Hubbardton. The 400 acre park, which opened in September, was a generous gift from Mickie and Kit Davidson. It’s a beautiful sanctuary with rolling hills, a peaceful Japanese garden and numerous hiking trails. This unique park is definitely worth adding to your list for the 2018 park season!

Share your Park Stories
Since Mt. Philo opened in 1924, some of the most memorable stories have been lived and shared by visitors to Vermont's state parks. If you spend time in our parks, you likely have some great stories to share!

The parks may be the backdrop for your children's firsts, like catching their first fish or learning to swim. They may be the setting for annual traditions, like camping trips with friends. Or their peaceful woods, calm waters and high peaks may be your perfect weekend escape.

If you have a story to tell, we’d love to share it. Send your story to info@vermontparksforever.org or through our website and we'll be in touch!
Winter Fun in the Parks!
