Hi <<First Name>>,
We hope you're enjoying this mid-Winter-Spring... real Spring awaits! Now is a great time to set up some self care routines to keep you healthy and injury free for the more active times ahead.
I know, I know, you're a lover, not a fighter... But, we're all in combat with gravity; it pulls us forward while we try to remain upright. Stretching is always recommended post exercise and throughout the day, but stretching alone isn't enough. We all need strengthening to improve posture and reduce pain. When you're leaning forward for several hours a day whether over children or computers, the chest, diaphragm and anterior neck muscles get stuck in a contracted and shortened state. This pulls on the upper back and posterior neck muscles, leaving them over lengthened and weak. It actually becomes difficult to obtain good posture when your muscles are in this state. Massage is great for rebalancing your body! The more you can do to maintain this balance, the less pain you'll experience between massages. Here's a great little article with exercises:
5 Exercises to Combat the Negative Effects of Bad Posture
Remember, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. If you only have time for 10 squats, that is still 100% better than no squats. Also, if you haven't exercised in awhile, beginning with the exercises above will provide you with core strength to take on more challenging exercise in the future.
For those of you traveling for work and struggling with trying to keep your luggage light, PCM client, Jeremy C. has found a solution with these ultra lightweight Nike Flyknit sneakers. Thanks for the tip Jeremy!
We want to thank you all for your patience while our team transitions. While it's sad for us to see Kait go, we are so very proud of her and happy that she's been able to build up a business of her very own. We wish her much success! We will continue to offer you the best care available with our team, new and old. PCM welcomes Erin aboard! Look for her on the schedule later this month.
