When Renee Bryant peers through the lens of her camera she sees a cacophony of color, light, texture and shape. Bright, dark, vivid, muted. Warm, cool. Lines, curves, patterns. Coarse, smooth, prickly, silky. She says that the colors and shapes draw her in and invite her to notice delicate details and fascinating impressions. Later, when she reviews images on her computer screen, she combines disparate images to create a single new impression. By compositing wildly different images, she asks the viewer to regard that which is often taken for granted and to envision a different point of view in order to focus on the art of nature, the art of age and the sheer beauty of the everyday and commonplace. Her work is intended to inspire questions, touch emotions and arouse memories.
Her work is a treat for the senses!
