               and Installation Ceremony

11:45 a.m. BBQ Potluck

You'll find an LL BEAN  bag with paper and pen located in the gathering area near the entrance to the sanctuary. Just write your scripture passage and place it in the "Grab Bag."   You are also welcome to leave a message on the church answering machine      (440) 543-5117.    We'll be sure it gets in the grab bag!

Pastor Brian will pull one or more  each Sunday in July to use as the sermon.

Come share the fellowship of Sunday Service and learn a bit more of what our Church Family is thinking.

Fill the Grab Bag

The Grab bag needs you! Well not you, but your ideas. Currently the Grab Bag is empty and needs you to fill it. Here’s your chance to hear about it from the pulpit. Maybe it’s a book of the Bible you haven’t heard a lot about. Maybe it’s an idea or doctrine you’ve never heard preached before or a book from the Apocrypha? For that matter, maybe it’s “what is the Apocrypha?” It’s all up for grabs, we just need you to write ‘em down and put ‘em in the bag. Remember this series is your opportunity to hear something or experience something you haven’t before so act fast! Pencil and paper are standing by!

Join us next Sunday, July 28th
for our annual Christmas in July Service!

We will sing carols, remember the story we promise to keep in our hearts every year, and take a collection for the UCC 5 for 5 Fund.

Service is followed by our BBQ Potluck.
Wonder & Worship Suspended in July
Wonder & Worship, the church's Sunday school program for children, will not meet in July.  It will resume in August.  In the meantime, young children can visit the nursery with their adult caregivers during worship.  Worship services can be heard in the nursery via the sound system.

A couple weeks ago people on the email list received a request for items for the Geauga County Veterans Food Bank.  I had never heard of this group before. I asked for more information and this is what I discovered. This non-profit group has been in existence for ten years.  It is located in the lower level of the Job and Family Services building on Ravenwood Drive in Chardon. They are open only on Friday, from 10 am till the afternoon.  They have been serving about 70 veterans and families. Lynn Algeri, who oversees the program, states they do not turn away any vet, their widow/widower, or their families.  Vets from any county are welcomed. She was grateful for our church members donations when their supplies were very low. In the fall they may be moving to a VFW hall in Middlefield.  They accept food and paper product donations all the time at the JFS location. Lynn promised to keep us in the loop regarding their needs and future home.

The author of the article is Kathy Meier.
