Accessing Knowledge: Pathways to Prosperity 2019
Did you know that newcomers are twice as likely to be unemployed as their Canadian-born counterparts with the same qualifications? (TRIEC 2019)

These and other realities were discussed at the 2019 Pathways to Prosperity National Conference, attended by HIPC and some of our community partners. The conference focused on research, policy, and practice supporting the attraction, settlement and integration of newcomers, with success stories and lessons learned from across the country. Research and programming on employment, language learning, skills development, affordable housing and beyond was presented, with many of the presentations in now accessible to all online through the website.

HIPC invites you to review these presentations and reflect on any gaps, similarities or differences that you find in your own work in Hamilton. How do our challenges differ? What similarities do you see? Share your thoughts with us on Twitter at #HamiltonForAll.

HIPC is curating a list of gift ideas for the socially-conscious friend on your list, and a list of fair-trade shops to purchase those gifts from for the festive season. Send us your ideas for the upcoming edition of ImmPress.
