Calling the community, volunteers needed to go orchid hunting    and plant fruit bushes.
Sunday 3rd July at Oakbrook Farm 10am till 3pm (approx).
In the morning……
We will be looking for wild flowers, particularly the orchids and plotting them on a map and also recording any sightings of butterflies, moths and other insects and wildlife.
Bring wellies and even waterproof trousers because the grass is long and damp. Notebook, camera (optional), even binoculars could be handy identifying butterflies. A Wild flower field guide and a butterfly guide useful if you have one.
We will also be digging up sapling oaks and potting them up for the tree nursery before the hay is cut.
Packed lunch and picnic
In the afternoon……….
We will be planting out 100 fruit bushes on the top field fence line to create the beginnings of a forage walk.
Please bring a spade or fork to prepare and dig the ground prior to planting, and work gloves.
Meet at the farm entrance at 10am
Thank you so much, many hands make light work!
