Dear Wine Club Family,

Over the past three years, we have had the pleasure of hosting most of you at the winery, sitting on the patio overlooking the vines. While tasting wines grown at our many other world-class sources throughout California, we've probably shared that our ultimate goals include being not only winemakers but also winegrowers.

The Spring 2018 club shipment marks an important milestone in this journey, with the first release of wines from our estate vineyard in Dry Creek Valley - 2015 Syrah "Vinegrove Swale" and 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon "Vinegrove Terrace." Having visited this special place, you can appreciate our connection to these wines that we nurtured from bud break to bottle. A few notes about them, as well as the two white wines that accompany, are included below.

Please review these few details about the shipment:
  • Your wines will ship the week of April 2nd.
  • Standard six-bottle shipment will be one bottle each of the white wines and two bottles each of the red wines.
  • If you'd like to make any changes to the standard shipment, please respond by 3 pm PDT on Friday, March 30th.
  • Be sure to notify us if your shipping address or credit card information has changed.

We hope to see you all again at the winery soon, and as always, we thank you all so much for your support.

Best Wishes,
Palmer Emmitt & Michael Scorsone

Wines In Your Shipment
Judge Palmer 2016 Sauvignon Blanc
Ellis Alden Vineyard, Alexander Valley

Similar in character to our blockbuster 2015 vintage, this Sauvignon Blanc expresses the unique character of the mountain vineyard where it is grown, balancing layers of bright tropical fruit with fresh, crisp acidity. Only 133 cases produced.

Domenica Amato 2016 Roussanne
Vivio Vineyard, Bennett Valley

Seven days on the skins during fermentation combined with 12 months in French oak yield a medium-to-full-bodied white with striking perfume aromas, flinty minerality, creamy pear and lemon curd flavors, and an epic finish.  Only 77 cases produced.
Domenica Amato 2015 Syrah
Vinegrove Swale, Dry Creek Valley

Showing the best of Syrah from a warmer site, this wine has rich chocolate and coffee flavors to go along with luscious dark fruit and a bit of earthy complexity gained from 50% whole cluster fermentation. Only 76 cases produced.
Judge Palmer 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon
Vinegrove Terrace, Dry Creek Valley

$76 for club members - regularly $95
When we first laid eyes on the terrace block we knew this steep hillside was special. The porous soils and intense afternoon sun force the vines to struggle, resulting in a luxuriously flavored, full-bodied wine with classic California Cabernet character. Only 70 cases produced.
Judge Palmer makes Bordeaux varietal wines from both Napa and Sonoma with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon. Our vineyards range from the revered to the remote, but all share the capability to profoundly express their varietal and place of origin, which we encourage with native yeast fermentations and minimal intervention.
Domenica Amato produces distinctive wines inspired by the grape growing regions on the coasts and islands of the Mediterranean Sea. Sourced from small, family-owned vineyards, and hand-made with passion and authenticity, these wines are best enjoyed with your loved ones around the Sunday dinner table.
