Grange Big Local Newsletter

September 2019

We are pleased to present our annual, free community festival!

The Grange Big Local Fun Palace will take place at the new Tarling Road centre this year. There will also be activities at Barnwood next door (see below for info about their launch party this weekend).

Please come and take part - everyone is welcome!
There will be loads of stalls with activities for adults and children including food, craft, art, science, nail painting, science, history and story-telling.

We will also be asking for your thoughts and comments on Grange Big Local and what work we should focus on in future. We look forward to seeing you all there.

We really need volunteers to help on the day - please email Claire to register as a volunteer -
You don't need to commit to the whole afternoon - just let us know when you can make it.
  • We offer free refreshments on the day. Can you bake a cake to share or help run the tea and coffee stall?
  • Have you got an eye for decorating - can you help string bunting and streamers before the festival starts? Can you help us set up tables and chairs?
  • We also need people to help tidy up at the end of the afternoon.

Grange Big Local is pleased to have supported the creation of a new residents group to manage and care for the Barnwood community garden on Tarling Road.

They are having a launch party this weekend and everyone is invited - join them to take a look around the garden - with music, refreshments, activities and to sign up as a future volunteer.

Community Grants
Over the coming months you will start to see the new activities from this programme beginning in our area - details to come on our website soon. Let us know what you think! If you have any queries or feedback, please contact our Community Engagement Manager, Claire Meade,

Coach Trip to the Seaside

Thanks to the volunteers who led the coach trip to Southend in August. A good time was had by all - 19 residents went on the trip, including 6 children.

Our youth programme led by Hope North London on the Grange Estate is back up and running for the new term! The free activities happen twice a week during term time.
