The 2016 WCA Royal Adelaide Wine Show luncheon is just around the corner and we are very pleased to advise that Adelaide, South Australia the Great Wine Capital of the World has come on board as our inaugural sponsor of this event.

In July 2016 Adelaide, South Australia joined the exclusive group of Great Wine Capitals.  The global network includes the 8 internationally renowned wine regions of San Francisco/Napa Valley (US), Bordeaux (France), Bilbao/Rioja (Spain), Cape Town (South Africa), Mainz/Rheinhessen (Germany), Mendoza (Argentina), Porto (Portugal) and Valparaiso/Casablanca Valley (Chile).

2016 WCA Royal Adelaide Wine Show Awards Lunch 
Being held on Friday, 30th September at the Ridley Centre, Adelaide Showgrounds.

2016 WCA Royal Melbourne Wine Show Lunch
After a successful event last year it is on again - this years "Jimmy and the hidden gems".  Held Friday, October 21st, guests will enjoy amazing food (from Flakes Feast), matched with the 2016 Jimmy Watson winner, trophy winning wines and high scoring hidden gems!  An event not to be missed.

Newcastle Food & Wine Expo is being held 26 - 28th August at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
Barossa Gourmet Weekend is fast approaching, 2- 4th September 2016.
Mudge Wine Festival runs for a whole month, from 9th September - 3rd October.
Capricorn Food and Wine Festival, Central Queensland is being held 16 - 18th September.

Industry news
Australian Vintage has recorded a full-year net profit of $7.2M up from $7.1M last year.  Overall the company post a net loss of $2M, following a vineyard lease termination of payment of $9.2M.  More details here.

Wine Australia announces continued growth in Australian wine exports to Chinese mainland.  Full report here.

Women and Leadership Australia (WLA) have launched a new flagship program designed to develop mid to senior level women and prepare them for advancement into executive leadership.  A national scholarship initiative will be administered by WLA to support the launch.  To find out more about the program read here.
