What will happen to the WET in next week’s Budget? The Australian believes "virtual winemakers" are gonna cop it. 

Woolworths Liquor Group has announced it will change its name to Endeavour Drinks Group from June. Make of that what you will. It will incorporate Dan Murphy’s, BWS, The Wine Quarter, Pinnacle Drinks and Chinese distribution business Summergate.
 

Meanwhile, eBay has announced its intentions in the online wine market, unveiling a new US-based site called eBay Wine. Media coverage here.
 
Vino Cap, a wine closure developed in SA with a built-in flavour chamber that lets drinkers manually add flavours or aromas or reduce preservatives, won first prize in the inaugural Winexplorer challenge run by Brancott Estate. Get the full story here.
