DIRECTORS
 
Bento Box is looking for Episodic Directors!
 
Location: North Hollywood, CA
 
Must be available to start between April 15th through May 13th
 
Primetime comedy experience a plus
 
Our ideal candidate can lead an episodic team of storyboard artists to make certain that the style, vision, and comedy for the series are met for each of their episodes. You work in partnership with the Supervising Director and will be part of all aspects of production including designs and timing. You are an organized multi-tasker with at least 2 years experience working on a series production, preferably comedy.  You work closely with your team of Storyboard Artists and Revisionists to make certain they understand your vision for each episode.  You are proactive and trouble-shoot with your team on a daily basis. You work with the Animatic Editor to deliver animatics that meet the style and timing of the series.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work with Supervising Director to ensure that his/her creative vision will be produced within production timeline, and budget
  • Work with Supervising Director on the script breakdown and prepare for hand out to your Storyboard team
  • Prep and lead storyboard handouts by communicating storytelling direction, design requirements, and expected level of quality to the Storyboard team
  • Review storyboards with your team and provide clear and precise instructions for any and all revisions.
  • Communicate, organize and relay all re-writes to your Storyboard team and Revisionists
  • Support, guide and lead your team in a positive manner.
  • Give feedback on rough boards submitted by your team ensuring that the Supervising Directors vision is progressing in the right direction
  • Participate in all animatic edit sessions to support the Executive Producers, hearing their notes and seeing the storyboard/animatic through to completion
 
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience directing in episodic series television, preferably in comedy
  • Knowledge of 2D animation and a thorough understanding of a 2D production pipeline from development to post production
  • Knowledge of Storyboard Pro, and Photoshop. Toon Boom Harmony knowledge is a plus
  • Comfortable working digitally on a Cintiq.
  • Must be able to time storyboards to dialogue tracks
  • Outstanding people skills: ability to guide a unique group of creative staff
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Must be able to adapt to changes easily within a highly dynamic environment, including the management of the team within this environment
  • Strong attention to detail is critical
  • Previous leadership experience, including demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team
STORYBOARD ARTIST
 
Bento Box is looking for Storyboard Artists
 
Positions starting: February, and March 2019
 
Location: North Hollywood, CA
 
PLEASE NOTE: these are 839 union positions
 
Responsibilities:
  • Report to Director daily for assignment direction and notes
  • Read scripts and be familiar with story and jokes
  • Daily check in with Coordinators for updated designs and audio
  • Responsible for completing assignments on schedule
  • Maintain quality and continuity of storyboards within the show
  • Implement all executive notes
  • Reference storyboard for final designs to make sure storyboard needs are met
  • Strive for excellent communication within team
 
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience storyboarding in episodic series television, preferably in comedy
  • Strong proficiency in Storyboard Pro
  • Comfortable working digitally on a Cintiq
  • Must be able to time storyboards to dialogue tracks
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Must be able to adapt to changes easily within a highly dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail is critical
  • Ability to work within a team oriented environment
