Say Thank You to our Volunteers
We have many fantastic volunteers in our club and now is your time to mention and celebrate them. Often we work in our own groups not knowing what others do within the club. If there is someone you would like to mention, send in a few words on how they make a difference to your time at Cork Harlequins (email facilities@corkharlequins.com)

Today we feature one of the many great parents who have found their way to Cork Harlequins because their child is playing hockey or as we discovered, found their way back !
Declan Keegan
The U14 2nd year group would like to thank Declan Keegan for all the work he has done over the season.

Declan stepped into the role of organising fixtures for the three 2nd year teams at the beginning of the season. With the group ably organised by Ger Daly and with the support of Breeda O'Herlihy, Suzanne Dennison Curtin and Susan Coakley (Team admin) and Mervyn Young (Lead Coach), Suzanne Black, Helen Costello, Aoife Falvey and Brian Clune (Coaches), Declan was able to carry out his role with gusto.

Arranging matches for 3 teams, 45 matches in the Hip Hop League, Declan was exceptional in his role, with his calm nature and meticulous planning he made a very hard job look easy !

Declan is no stranger to Harlequins however, he was a member of the club back in the 90s when he played Junior and Senior Cricket. Declan's daughter, Abi, has been playing since she was 8 and helped to bring Declan back into the fold. Another "can't help us person", Declan isn't one to stand on the sidelines. In the past Declan has managed teams at blitzes and also took on the role this year managing the Pink Hip Hop team with Brian Clune.

Declan is a huge sports fan. He played rugby with Dolphin RFC and is an avid Munster and PBC fan. With his 9 year old twin boys playing with Eire Og GAA club, Declan is often seen running off the hockey pitch and straight onto a GAA pitch !

Declan juggles a busy job with his fixtures role, working as a Senior Supply Chain Manager and even when travelling around the world is busy organising the Hip Hop games. Declan is always in good humour, always encouraging his players and is a wizard at "roll on roll off".

Thank you Declan !
